Note: I’m using Blushost screenshots in this tutorials. But don’t worry! If your hosting provider is different then still you can find the same options on your hosting cpanel.
First of all, get access to your WordPress hosting account like Bluehost, HostGator or the like, and scroll down and click on File Manager under Files tab. Note: Make sure Files tab is selected.
Now, click on the radio button next to ‘Document Root for’ and select a domain name for backup. Subsequently, click on submit button.
Upon clicking on the button, you’ll be redirected to a new page. Wait for auto login or click on the login button. Once you get logged IN, you will be able to see your website files.
Once you logged IN, you will be able to see your files and folders, simply click on the first folder and scroll down to the end of the list and press and hold Shift Key then click on the last folder or file. This way all files and folders will be selected. Now, from the top navigation menu, hit Compress button.
After clicking on the link, a pop-up box will appear on your computer screen, just select Zip Archive as compress type and give a name to your backup file then press Compress File(s) button.
Wait! Once the backup is created hit close button and you can see a new ZIP folder in the list; if you’re unable to see your ZIP folder file then refresh the page.
In the next step, select the ZIP folder and click on Download and save ZIP file to your computer.
